Amsterdam and Haarlem
When people think of The Netherlands, people soon think of Amsterdam. Logical, but not surprisingly different. Haarlem is located near Amsterdam. A smaller city, also affectionately known as Amsterdam’s little sister. Haarlem has everything Amsterdam has to offer, from canals to coffee shops and a red light district, but in a smaller and quieter area. If you really want to surprise your guests, consider Haarlem in addition to Amsterdam.
If you prefer a big city, Rotterdam is definitely worth considering. Rotterdam is also a metropolis that has a lot to offer. It is not without reason that the city has been chosen to host the Eurovision song contest.
From city to beach
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, there are many options within a short distance. You can visit the polders with the typical Dutch windmills, but you can also visit the Dutch coast via the dunes and forests. Unique sandy beaches with many opportunities to get a breath of fresh air and relax or to be active. How about sand yachting or powerkiting? It is all possible within a 30-minute journey from Amsterdam.
